BiotechZone is committed to protect your privacy. We acknowledge the importance of having one’s privacy protected, and will play our role in protecting yours.
When registering on, we will ask for some personally and institutionally identifiable information. This information is vital for the process of verifying the users of the marketplace. This is an important procedure, as it will certify the capability of each user to sell/buy the products and services on the website. This will be addressed in a following section of this Policy.
Further information may be, optionally, provided by you in the case you register for services we offer (such as newsletters). In some cases, services may not be available if you choose not to provide some information.
Once you register on the site, you can verify, change and delete your personal data on your profile on the website. If you are the representative of the institution (master-account), you can also verify, change and delete your affiliation information.
Traffic data (statistics concerning our website), may be aggregated, anonymised, and shared with third parties. Such information does not identify you and is not linked with any personally identifiable information.

BiotechZone collects information in order to improve the services provided. For this end, we may use your information only to:
i) Verify your identity;
ii) Process transactions or other services you expressly requested;
iii) Offer you relevant information suitable to you and your interests;
iv) Promote a marketing activity, concerning exclusively our website;
v) Any purpose for which you have given express consent.
BiotechZone performs ID verification processes that certify the users’ ID. By these means, BiotechZone is able to confirm the capability of each user to develop, in the Site, its professional/ institutional activity in the fields of Biotechnology, Life Sciences and Laboratory Technology.
At a first stage, the ID of the user will be validated through the process of Representative ID Validation, in which some information will be collected by BiotechZone, such as:
i) Institutional Email address
ii) Affiliation (Company/ Institution)
iii) LinkedIn Profile
iv) ID card/ Passport/ Driver license copy (Proof of Identity)
v) Publications
Secondly, the ID of the entity itself will be verified through the process of Affiliation ID Validation, in which the following data will be collected by BiotechZone:
i) Affiliation VAT (Value-added tax) number/ TIN (Tax Identification Number)
ii) Website
iii) LinkedIn Affiliation Profile
iv) Proof of Institutional address (Purchase order, Bill, etc)
v) Affiliation Certificates (Licensing, Certification & Accreditation Documents)
Data collected in the processes of Representative ID Validation and Affiliation ID Validation will be used solely by BiotechZone for verification purposes. However, for reasons of certainty and transparency, the following information will be provided to the counterpart in a given transaction.
Each Seller will have a public profile – Storefront – to which the Buyer may access at any time. This profile may be accessed by clicking on the Seller’s name on the product/ service details page and on the search results. This public profile presents the following information:
i) Affiliation Name (Seller)
ii) Affiliation Type (Seller)
iii) Affiliation Department/ R&D group (Seller)
iv) Affiliation City/ Country (Seller)
v) Affiliation Feedback (Seller)
vi) Affiliation Licensing, Certification & Accreditation Docs (Seller)
vii) Affiliation Contact (Within BiotechZone) (Seller)
viii) Store Title
ix) Store Description
x) Store Video
xi) Store Welcome Message
xii) Store Return Policy
xiii) Store Brands/ Manufacturers (Products only)
xiv) Store Products/ Services.
Once the parties are about to conclude a transaction, the Buyer’s Order Details Page will present the additional information about the Seller:
i) Affiliation Billing Address (Seller)
ii) Affiliation VAT no./ Tax ID no. (Seller)
iii) State Seller's Permit (Seller) - Seller's Permit No., Tax ID No., State, County, City, Resale Certificate.
The Seller will have access to the Buyer’s full profile in the Seller’s Order Details Page, that is only available once the parties are about to conclude a transaction. This briefing will present the following details:
i) Affiliation Name (Buyer)
ii) Affiliation Type (Buyer)
iii) Affiliation Department/ R&D group (Buyer)
iv) Affiliation Shipping Address (Buyer)
v) Affiliation Billing Address (Buyer)
vi) Affiliation City/ Country (Buyer)
vii) Affiliation Feedback (Buyer)
viii) Affiliation Licensing, Certification & Accreditation Docs (Buyer)
ix) Affiliation VAT no./ Tax ID no. (Buyer)
x) VAT/ Tax Exempt (Buyer) – Certificate, Sales Tax Exempt State (US)
xi) State Seller's Permit (Buyer) - Seller's Permit No., Tax ID No., State, County, City, Resale Certificate
xii) Affiliation Contact (Within BiotechZone) (Buyer)
BiotechZone will never sell your personal data, or by any means make it accessible to third parties, subject to the following terms.
BiotechZone will not disclose any personally and/or institutionaly identifiable information about you to third parties. This not include our group of companies. Such information may be disclosed only if you expressly consent or in the case it is an essential part of providing a service to you and we have your consent for that - for example, allowing you to pay through PayPal and on the scope of the ID verification processes.
In order to comply with any legal or judicial obligation, BiotechZone may have to disclose or share your personal data. The same may apply concerning the enforcement of our Terms and Conditions of Use, to protect BiotechZone or our users. This provision includes the exchange of information for purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
